In March of 2005, we began kicking around an idea of trying to make a brick from 100% recycled materials with no concern for the aesthetic outcome; just use materials classified as recycled, all waste products and put them together such that we could meet all ASTM C-216 SW criteria.  While we were pleased the spefications were met, none of us could have predicted such a rich, beautiful color as our original Elizabeth; deep burgundy with chocolate tones, organic and striking.  Since the brick's origin, we've been able to adjust setting techniques to differentiate the looks to have range, but also isolate dark, red, antique frost and when flashed, the brick have a distinct, silvery iridescence in natural light.
